So, yesterday I saw an old man strolling backwards. It made me think how much I can’t wait until I’m old and don’t care if people think I’m weird walking backwards. Old people are so wonderful, I love when they wear their “driving” hats and gloves.
This morning John and I woke up around 9:30 (blessed Saturday!) to Sadie laughing and making noises and squealing in between us (she ended up in our bed around 5:30). We fell back asleep and woke up again around 10 and she was still going at it. What a good kid. She’s such a morning person! Although, I’m sure our friend Eric who stays over on Saturdays doesn’t think it’s that funny, I think he wanted to sleep late! Well, too bad, when my kid is happy I let her be happy!!!Right now she has discovered that when she drops her spoon (her favorite toy) she has fun looking down at it. How cool to be a baby and discover those things.
So, today we are getting rid of our TV. That’s right, we are going to be “those” people. Those people who have a living room without a TV! There are the obvious “holier than thou” reasons, like there is nothing but crap on TV now. But mostly it’s because we have WAY too much to do, and the TV is our distraction. Instead of studying or writing our papers, we will watch “just one show” that ends up three hours later we’ve watch too much TV and gorged ourselves on every snackable food in the house. This is, of course, if we can find someone to help John move it because it is a monstrous thing that takes up way too much space. That’s another reason I want to get rid of it, my whole living room centers around the TV! Although, I will have to figure something else to do while I’m ironing…
You know what I love about blogs? I can have terrible English, terrible grammar, terrible sentence structure and no one cares! Except maybe Jessica, Ms. English major is probably correcting me in her head!
Anyway, John and I both have TONS to do, like that paper I’ve been talking about, but we’ve both decided that today “we quit”. Sometimes we would really like to quit, but really we can only do it for a few hours. So today we might go on a picnic, we might go to the strange November Santa Clause parade downtown, we might go shopping for a high chair, we might pawn the TV, we might sit around in our pj’s staring at the wall, WHO CARES! I think I’ll do a few “projects” I’ve been putting off, go to the library and read magazines, and sit around with the babe. Yeah, that sounds good.
Just a few more days until my sis-in-law has liitle Jude! Can’t wait Jen and Joe!
